Any Intel arch SoC/old PC would smoke the RPi in performance, so hard. In fact it would leave 99.9% of non-x86 boards in the dust, there's just no comparison. Now power consumption is a another issue.. If you really want a small SoC instead of an old desktop, get a PC Engines APU2 (x86-64) board.
