Forum discussion: I currently have two Linksys WRT54G installed with DD-WRT firmware on both. I have one of the WRT54G hooked up to my cable modem, and then the other WRT54G in repeater mode. I

Information on antenna chains has been difficult to find, (google seems to think I want to search for antenna gain). I found this IEEE article which defines what they are, but it doesn't explain how I'd use that information when configuring a device. I installed DD-WRT on my TP-Link WDR3600 and it says I have two physical radio interfaces. I bought this set of 4 high gain antennas for my Linksys wrt1900ac which is installed with DD-WRT firmware, the 2.4ghz band on my wrt1900ac is in client mode Several posts on the dd-wrt forum report bugs in the latest builds. The last stable release listed on the dd-wrt database is build 14896. I've been using it in my C1 router without any problems since it was released in August. You should have trouble at all getting 80-90% with just one directional antenna on one of them, as that is what I see in my home, and the routers are around 100 ft. apart. Might I also suggest increasing the power level slightly in dd-wrt on each of the routers. I like to run mine conservatively, but a 33% power increase is a db of gain. Good Luck, Antenna Gain . Recommended Setting: dBi value of the antenna(s) used on the router Antenna gain is amount of "gain" or "boost" of signal that the antenna provides. Its a bit complicated but remember this, antennas are not amplifiers. They do not magnify the signal, but instead "focus" the signal in certain directions, yes even omni-directional

Got a refurbished of these Buffalo wzr-hp-g300nh from Vietnam and flashed away the custom dd-wrt on it to put on the stock DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/07/10) std – build 14896. I'm amazed at all of the settings that dd-wrt gives – far more than any other router that I've ever had.
